The Remnant Trousers Collection is a limited series of individually handcrafted unisex trousers made from reclaimed German postal sacks dating from before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Each piece combines historical utility fabrics with contemporary tailoring, transforming forgotten materials into wearable one-of-a-kind garments.
While all ten trousers share the same overall construction, every pair differs through original postal markings, pocket configurations, closures and individual material characteristics. No two pieces are identical, making each garment a unique interpretation of the collection.
This particular piece features reclaimed postal sack fabric that has been hand-dyed, creating a deeper, weathered appearance while preserving the original texture and character of the material. Faded fragments of the original postal typography remain visible across the front, giving the garment a subtle graphic quality and emphasizing its unique history. The front panels are constructed from reclaimed postal sacks, while the back is made from black cotton fabric, creating a strong contrast between historic utility textiles and contemporary tailoring.
The trousers feature a concealed zip fly and a single oversized utility pocket positioned on the right leg. The asymmetrical pocket construction reinforces the functional nature of the design while maintaining a clean and balanced silhouette. The tapered leg and slightly cropped proportions create a relaxed shape that works equally well in everyday wear and more experimental styling.
The dyeing process gives the fabric a darker and more textured appearance. Variations in tone, faded markings and traces of previous use remain intentionally visible, ensuring that each garment carries its own individual character.
