Remnant Trousers No. 1 of 10 – Handmade Unisex Trousers
The Remnant Trousers Collection is a limited series of individually handcrafted unisex trousers made from reclaimed German postal sacks dating from before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Each piece combines historical utility fabrics with contemporary tailoring, creating garments that carry visible traces of their former life while offering a completely new function.
All ten trousers share the same fundamental concept, but every pair differs through original sack markings, typography, pocket configurations, closures, fabric treatments and subtle construction details. As a result, no two pieces are identical.
This particular piece features the original postal sack typography prominently displayed across the front, preserving the authentic character of the material. A large utility pocket is integrated into the upper leg, adding both functionality and visual structure. The front panels are constructed from reclaimed postal sack fabric, while the back is made from black cotton fabric, creating a strong contrast between the historic textile and the clean contemporary silhouette.
The trousers feature a high-waisted construction with an adjustable waist through the side button system. The tapered leg creates a structured shape while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement.
Rather than hiding the age and history of the material, the design embraces it. Small irregularities, signs of wear and original markings are intentionally preserved as part of the garment's character and authenticity.
