Remnant Trousers No. 3 of 10 – Handmade Unisex Trousers
The Remnant Trousers Collection is a limited series of individually handcrafted unisex trousers made from reclaimed German postal sacks dating from before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Each piece combines historical utility fabrics with contemporary tailoring, transforming discarded materials into wearable one-of-a-kind garments.
While all ten trousers share the same overall construction, every pair differs through original postal markings, pocket configurations, closures, dye treatments and individual material characteristics. Each piece therefore carries its own distinct visual identity.
This particular piece features original postal sack typography across the front panels and has been individually dyed, giving the fabric a warm aged yellow tone while preserving the texture and character of the original material. The front is constructed from reclaimed postal sack fabric, while the back is made from black cotton fabric, creating a strong contrast between the historic textile and the contemporary silhouette.
The trousers feature a traditional button fly closure and a single large utility pocket positioned on the left leg. The pocket adds both functionality and visual balance while maintaining the clean and structured appearance of the garment. The high-rise construction and tapered leg create a distinctive silhouette that remains comfortable and easy to wear.
Visible traces of the original postal sacks remain intentionally preserved throughout the garment. Rather than concealing the history of the material, the design embraces it, allowing each piece to tell its own story through typography, texture and natural variations.
