Daylight Dress No. 9 is part of a limited series of individually handcrafted dresses. All ten pieces share a common construction while each garment develops its own identity through the interaction of color, material and composition.
This piece is defined by a strong contrast between its upper and lower sections. The top features a vibrant striped fabric in pink, teal, yellow and soft tonal variations. The horizontal stripes create a sense of movement and rhythm, giving the upper part a lively and expressive character.
In contrast, the lower section is constructed from a softer, more muted pink fabric. This creates a calmer visual field, allowing the upper part to remain dominant while still maintaining overall balance. The transition between the sections is clearly visible, emphasizing the garment’s assembled construction.
An additional color block in a warm red tone appears at the lower back, introducing an unexpected shift when viewed from behind. This asymmetrical color placement changes the perception of the piece depending on perspective, making the dress visually dynamic from all angles.
The sleeves are intentionally mismatched, combining different tones that connect subtly to the colors in the striped upper section. Both sleeves are finished with darker cuffs, adding a structured endpoint to the otherwise soft silhouette.
The neckline is wide and minimal, allowing the composition of the fabrics to remain the focal point. The overall silhouette is slightly fitted, following the natural shape of the body while maintaining comfort and ease of movement.
