Daylight Dress No. 5 is part of a limited series of individually handcrafted dresses. All ten pieces follow a consistent construction, while each dress develops its own identity through fabric, proportion and surface.
This piece is defined by a combination of contrasting materials and colors. The upper section features a soft, lightweight fabric with horizontal multicolor stripes, creating a vibrant and rhythmic surface. The lower part transitions into more muted tones and textured materials, introducing a layered visual composition.
The interplay between structured stripes and calmer, textured fabrics gives the garment a distinct character. Each section responds differently to movement and light, creating subtle variation across the surface.
The construction follows a gently shaped silhouette through the upper body, while the lower part becomes more fluid and irregular. The transition between sections is intentionally visible, emphasizing the assembled nature of the piece.
Three-quarter sleeves with contrasting cuffs reinforce the mixed-material approach, while the neckline remains clean and open, allowing the fabric composition to stay the focal point.
