Remnant Trousers No. 2 of 10 – Handmade Unisex Trousers
The Remnant Trousers Collection is a limited series of individually handcrafted unisex trousers made from reclaimed German postal sacks dating from before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Each piece combines historical utility fabrics with contemporary tailoring, creating garments that carry visible traces of their former life while offering a completely new function.
All ten trousers share the same fundamental concept, but every pair differs through original sack markings, pocket configurations, closures, fabric treatments and subtle construction details. As a result, no two pieces are identical.
This particular piece features original postal sack typography across the front panels, preserving the authentic graphic character of the material. Two large utility pockets are integrated into the upper leg area, creating both visual structure and additional functionality. The front is constructed from reclaimed postal sack fabric, while the back is made from black cotton fabric, creating a strong contrast between historic material and contemporary construction.
The trousers feature a concealed zip fly and an adjustable waist through the side button system. The high-rise construction and tapered leg create a clean silhouette while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement.
Rather than hiding the age and history of the material, the design embraces it. Original markings, slight irregularities and signs of previous use remain visible, making every piece a unique document of material history.
