The Vessel Bag Small Collection is a limited series of ten individually handcrafted crossbody bags – the compact version of the Vessel Bag. All ten pieces share the same construction and overall design language, while each bag differs through its combination of 1970s denim, leather and cotton canvas.
A central design element of the collection is the panelled front with an external zip pocket. Each bag is assembled from a few large pieces of salvaged material, so the seam lines and material changes rather than any print carry the pattern. A buttoned flap closes the opening, and the body widens from a narrow top towards a broad base, giving the bag its compact, vessel-like volume.
This particular piece is split horizontally: the lower body and the flap are cut from sand-coloured leather, the upper front from grey-blue denim carrying the das W. logo in gold. A silver zip sits in the leather just below the seam between the two materials, and the flap closes onto two dark buttons. The outer edges are black leather, and the khaki webbing strap runs through a tan leather wrap. The back is worked in the same grey-blue denim.
The bag sits flat against the body and can be worn long across the chest or shortened to sit at the hip. The strap adjusts through a metal ring, and the wide base gives the bag its volume without adding bulk.
