The Vessel Bag Small Collection is a limited series of ten individually handcrafted crossbody bags – the compact version of the Vessel Bag. All ten pieces share the same construction and overall design language, while each bag differs through its combination of 1970s denim, leather and cotton canvas.
A central design element of the collection is the panelled front with an external zip pocket. Each bag is assembled from a few large pieces of salvaged material, so the seam lines and material changes rather than any print carry the pattern. A buttoned flap closes the opening, and the body widens from a narrow top towards a broad base, giving the bag its compact, vessel-like volume.
This particular piece is built around a vertical panel of apple-green leather carrying the das W. logo in gold, set between two courses of light-wash denim and framed by dark indigo denim at the outer edges. A brass zip cuts across the leather just below the logo. The flap is topped with a band of navy denim and closes onto two dark buttons, and the khaki webbing strap runs through a yellow leather wrap at the shoulder. The back is worked in dark indigo denim with a light-wash band along the top, so the bag reads green from the front and deep blue from behind.
The bag sits flat against the body and can be worn long across the chest or shortened to sit at the hip. The strap adjusts through a metal ring, and the wide base gives the bag its volume without adding bulk.
